The main stream of Dehui New River starts from Wangfenglou Village, Pingyuan County, Dezhou City, with Honggou River and Zhaowanggou in the upper reaches, flows eastward through eight counties and cities such as Lingxian, Linyi, Shanghe, Leling, Yangxin, Qingyun and Wudi, and joins Ma Jiahe in the Bohai Sea in the northeast of Wudi County. Total length of main stream172.5km.

The upstream 105km of Dehui New River is a newly excavated river course, and the downstream 67.5km is an old river course in Ma Jiahe, which has become the river course of Dehui New River after expansion and treatment. The upper reaches of Dehui New River are formed by the confluence of Honggou River and Zhaowang River, tributaries of Wangfenglou, Pingyuan County, and flow through 2 1 towns in Pingyuan, Lingxian, Linyi, Leling and Qingyun counties of Dezhou City. The length of rivers in Dezhou is 127.6 km, and the length of dikes is 203 km. There are mainly tributaries such as Zhaowang River, Honggou River, Zhangfeng Chigou, Yulin River, Yintu Zonggan, Beizhan River, Shanglin River and Dahulougou in Dezhou City.

There are 8 sluices in Dezhou section of Xinhe River in Dehui from top to bottom, including Wangfenglou, Zhanghou, Zhaobanghammer, Zhengdian, Wanggangzi, Daliudian, Baiheguan and Hudaokou sluices. There are 3 dangerous projects, a 12 high retaining canal with a gap of 17, of which 5 are tributaries, and Yulin is a tributary with a drainage area of over 300 square kilometers. Jin 'an section of Dehui Xinhe starts from Huang San Temple in Huairen Town, Shanghe County to the northeast along Linyi and Shanghe County boundaries, to the west of Shang Lin River mouth, to the east of Shanghe County, and to the east of Maihu Station in Hanmiao Township along Leling and Shanghe County boundaries in Kuitai Township. The main tributaries are Shanglin River, Yuejin River, Gaijian River and Shandong River.

Dehui Xinhe River enters Yangxin County of Binzhou City from the north of Cuijialou Village in Yangxin County, passes through Wanggangzi Village to the north of Wangkunxi Village, enters Qingyun County of Dezhou City, enters Wudi County of Binzhou City in the west of Jiejia Village, passes through Dawangjiaxi, Guajiakou West, Chezhen West, Dayangxi, Dashan, Liuguo Bridge East and Huanggualing East, and then joins Ma Jiahe in the northeast to flow into Bohai Sea. Yangxin and Wudi Rivers in Binzhou City are 77.6 kilometers long, with dike length of 137.4 kilometers and drainage area of 135.4 square kilometers. The bottom of Cuilou River in Yangxin County is 58 meters wide, with a slope of 1:3, a dike height of 2.70 meters, a dike top width of 5 meters, a dike distance of 154 meters, a drainage flow of 28 1.7 cubic meters per second and a flood control flow of 4 14 cubic meters per second. The bottom of the North River in Wangkunxi Village is 87 meters wide, with a slope of 1:3, a dike height of 3.4 meters, a dike top width of 4 meters, a dike distance of 1.87 meters, a drainage flow of 296.4 cubic meters per second and a flood control flow of 455 cubic meters per second. The bottom of Jiejia River in Wudi County is 87 meters wide, the slope is 1:3, the dike height is 2.7 meters, the dike top is 6 meters wide, the drainage flow is 302 cubic meters per second, and the flood control flow is 455 cubic meters per second. The confluence river has a bottom width of 105m, a gradient of 1: 5, a dike height of 1.3m, a dike top width of 4m, a dike distance of 540m, a drainage flow of 320m3/s, and a flood control flow of 472m3/s. There are Wanggangzi sluice, Baihe sluice and lake in Binzhou section of Dehui New River. In addition, there are 28 drainage culverts and 6 production bridges. Dehui New River (Binzhou Section) is a plain river, which was reconstructed from Laomajia River in Wudi. Because it is close to the Yellow River, it was greatly affected by the floods of the Yellow River in previous dynasties. The overall trend of the whole river is still straight, but there are many bends in some areas.

Dehui Xinhe is a humanistic river with a long history in Yangxin and Wudi counties. As early as the Neolithic Age in the late primitive society of six or seven thousand years ago, there were human settlements, but before the Ming Dynasty, because the basin was close to the Bohai Sea, the land was sparse and there were few residents. In the Ming Dynasty, a large number of immigrants from Hongdong County, Shanxi Province and Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province moved in. Hard-working and brave ancestors worked hard on this vast land and created splendid culture, which is known as "the civilized area of Oriental Province and the house of Hanyuan in Beihai". Therefore, there are many scenic spots, historical sites, cultural landscapes and natural landscapes in Dehui New River Basin, including Dayu, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty and Wei Wudi, who boarded the site and left traces and remains. Jieshi Mountain is located on the left bank of Binzhou section of Dehui Xinhe River. It is called Jieshi Mountain in Gong Yu, followed by Wudi Mountain, Yanshan Mountain, Magu Mountain and Dashan Mountain. Conical, 63.4 meters above sea level, covering an area of more than 200,000 square meters. This mountain was formed in the Cenozoic Quaternary Pleistocene 730,000 years ago. It was accumulated by volcanic eruption 654.38+200,000 years ago. It is the youngest volcano in China and the only outcrop volcano in North China Plain. Known as "the first mountain in southern Beijing", 1.999 was listed as a provincial geological heritage nature reserve in March. Dehui New River is a nature reserve of shell dike island and wetland system. This shell dike island is the most intact one in the world at present, and it is also the only island where old and new dikes coexist. It is a transit station, wintering, habitat and breeding ground in bird migration, an inland island in Northeast Asia and a Pacific island around the west. There are 45 species of birds in the reserve, and the natural scenery is vast, quiet and beautiful. It is a good place for horse riding, rabbit hunting, fishing and crab catching.
