Brief introduction of Chongqing

Chongqing is a provincial administrative region, municipality directly under the Central Government, national central city and megacity in People's Republic of China (PRC). The State Council is one of the important national central cities, the economic center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the national advanced manufacturing center, the western financial center, the western international comprehensive transportation hub and the international gateway hub. By the end of 2020, it has jurisdiction over 26 districts, 8 counties and 4 autonomous counties with a permanent population of 32.0542 million.

Chongqing history

In the early Paleolithic period 2 million years ago, Wushan people, the earliest human in China, appeared in Wushan County. In the late Paleolithic period of 20,000-30,000 years ago, "Tongliang Culture" appeared.

The Xia and Shang Dynasties were Baipudi. The Three Gorges area is the main source of rock salt in China. Because salt is one of the important hard currencies in ancient times, the civilization of Pakistan was born in Wushan area from Shang Dynasty to Western Zhou Dynasty.

During the Warring States Period, after Pakistan moved southward from Hanshui River Basin to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, it successively established its capital in Zhi Zhi, Jiangzhou and Dianjiang.

In the first year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty, the county was abandoned and Lishui was surrounded by the city, and Chuzhou was changed to Yuzhou to govern Ba County. This is the origin of Chongqing. Great cause for three years, the waste state belongs to Ba County.

The first year of Tang Wude was Yuzhou, the first year of Tianbao was changed to Nanping County, and the first year was Yuzhou. The Tang Dynasty continued the name of Yuzhou and was under the jurisdiction of Shannan West Road.

In the Song Dynasty, it was successively under the jurisdiction of Xichuan Road, Shaanxi Road and Kuizhou Road. In the first year of Chongning, due to Zhao Chen's rebellion, Song Huizong changed "Chongqing" to "Duke of Zhou". In the 16th year of Song Xiaozong's reign, he first made a tribute to the King and then ascended the throne. He boasted of "Double Celebration" and was promoted to Chongqing, hence the name Chongqing.

Chongqing has always been the resident of Xuanwei Department in southern Sichuan in Yuan Dynasty, and was once the resident of Sichuan Province.

In the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang destroyed Daxia Prefecture and changed it to Chongqing Prefecture, which was under the Sichuan Chengxuan Bureau.

The movement of "Huguang filling Sichuan" in the early Qing Dynasty made Chongqing have a long history and rich immigrant culture, which laid the foundation of modern Chongqing society.

In the tenth year of the Republic of China, Chongqing set up a port supervision office, appointed Yang Sen as the supervisor, and organized municipal administration.
