Zhangliang Town is located in the southeast of Lushan County, adjacent to Cuiziying Township in the east and northeast, across the river from Malou Township in the west and northwest, and Fangcheng County in the south. One of the towns in the Great Plains, Zhangliang Street, where the town government is located, is 17 kilometers away from the county seat.

The town center is divided into four village committees: Zhangliangbei, Zhangliangnan, Zhangliangxi, and Zhangliangdong. It was called Zhangliangdian in ancient times and later changed to Liuhou Town. It is also called Zhangliangzhai, Zhangliang Town, and Zhangliang The street, referred to as Zhangjie or Zhangliang, was named after Zhang Liang stationed troops in the early Han Dynasty. Zhangliang Town was named after the town people's government was stationed in the center of the town.

Zhangliang Town has prosperous commerce and history and has been the political, economic and cultural center of the southeastern part of Lushan County. It is known as the "Er Lu Mountain". The landform of Zhangliang Town is unique, with majestic and steep Zhangdoushan Mountain, Penghe Reservoir with turquoise water and other landscapes.
