How does Macron view the fight against terrorism?

On August 29th, French President Macron said that his foreign policy will focus on France's "security, independence and influence", and that combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of the French people are the top priorities of French diplomacy.

Macron made the above remarks at the annual meeting of French diplomatic envoys abroad. This is the first time that he has publicly and systematically expounded his foreign policy since he officially took office as French president in May this year.
