A Brief Introduction to Ten Thousand Layers of Waves

Isaac Julien, a British artist and film director, recently released a new work "Waves of Ten Thousand Layers" in Shanghai. After nearly three years of preparation, Zhao Tao, the protagonist of The Three Gorges Good Man, finally won and played Ruan in the film.

After watching Platform, The World and The Good Man of Three Gorges starring Zhao Tao in London, Isaac Julien invited Zhao Tao to cooperate. In Ten Thousand Waves, Zhao Tao recreates the image of Ruan, an actress in the 1930s in Goddess, and her "Goddess" in the film will also return to modern times and meet legendary love across time and space on both sides of Huangpu River. In 2007, the film director Isaac Julien filmed the documentary Derek Jarman about the life of British talented director Derek Jarman, which caused a sensation in the international film circle. It took him nearly three years to select actors for Thousand Waves on a global scale. After watching Jia's "Platform, Man, Three Gorges Good Man" in London, he invited Zhao Tao to play the classic role of Ruan. Interestingly, Ruan, directed by Heguan, won the Best Actress Award at the Berlin Film Festival.

Although she didn't play opposite Maggie Cheung, Zhao Tao admitted in an interview that it was a great honor to play a movie with her favorite actress. When asked if he was interested in playing opposite Zhang Biao, Zhao Tao said with a smile: "There is no need at all, and the characteristics of their roles are different."
