Preferential policies for college entrance examination in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan

Legal analysis: students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan can get extra points in the mainland college entrance examination, and they can get 10 points according to the policy of extra points in the college entrance examination. Candidates include ethnic minority candidates, returned overseas Chinese and their children, children of overseas Chinese, candidates from Taiwan Province Province and children of martyrs. There is a policy of increasing 10 points.

Legal basis: General Rules for the Joint Enrollment of Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Students by Colleges and Universities in People's Republic of China (PRC) and China promulgated by the State Education Commission. The cultural requirements for candidates are the same as those for domestic (mainland) candidates in principle. The minimum admission control score is determined by the State Education Commission. Institutions of higher learning shall, in accordance with the regulations and according to the candidates' scores and other relevant information, not admit students without authorization, and not lower the admission standards.
