What's the difference between getting a red card and a green card in Malaysia?
The red card is a special identity document for residents. These people were born in China/other countries and have settled in Malaysia since 1957. Many of them still have not obtained Malaysian citizenship. Many of them live in Malaysia all the year round and marry local people, but they can neither obtain Malaysian citizenship nor obtain long-term residency in Malaysia.
A green card is a permanent residence in Malaysia.
1. According to immigration laws and regulations 1959 to 1963, any foreign citizen can obtain permanent residency in Malaysia.
Two. Foreign citizens who have obtained permanent resident status will be issued with entry certificates and identity cards (MyPR).
Three. Any foreign citizen with permanent resident status will be exempted from all visa requirements for entering and staying in Malaysia.
