Mazu culture originated in Meizhou, Fujian Province, then immigrated to Taiwan Province Province and took root in Taiwan Province Province. The spirit of "love for peace, helping the poor, compassion and fraternity, selfless dedication" represented by Mazu embodies the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation and constitutes an important emotional bond for compatriots on both sides of the strait. Mazu, also known as "Tian Fei" and "Tianhou" and commonly known as "Poseidon Goddess", is the legendary goddess in charge of maritime shipping. Mazu, formerly known as Maureen, was born in Putian, Fujian on March 23, 1960, and died on September 9, 1987 at the age of 28.
