Where is Zhangbi Castle?

Zhangbi Castle, located in Zhangbi Village, Longfeng Town, Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province, was built in the Sixteen Kingdoms Period with a building area of1.2000 square meters.

Zhangbi Castle was built according to China's traditional astrology and honesty. There are five elements of yin and yang on the ground and six strange doors underground. The name of Zhangbibao Village also comes from the 28 stars of Zhang Su and Su Bi. There are two gates to the north and south of the castle. The north gate is made of brick, and there is an urn outside the gate to enhance the defense ability. There are also many religious temples above the urn.

The gate of Wengcheng faces east and north, forming two fort gates with the North Fort Gate. The two gates are not on the same central axis, which not only follows the principle of ancient military defense, but also implies that Feng Shui does not flow out. Nanbao gate is made of stone, and there is a stone carving faucet on the door, which symbolizes the faucet; There are nine red stones paving the road outside the door, symbolizing the dragon beard.

On May 25th, 2006, Zhangbi Castle was announced by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Zhangbi Castle is a well-preserved ancient pocket "castle" in China, which integrates military, residential, production and religious activities. This is a thousand-year-old village with many cultural relics, such as the ruins of ancient culture in Xia and Shang Dynasties, tunnels in Sui and Tang Dynasties, tombs in Jin Dynasty, stages in Yuan Dynasty, houses in Ming and Qing Dynasties, etc. It can be called a heavy history book.

Kuixing in the sky, the wall on the ground. The outline of Zhangbi Castle is similar to Kuixing in the sky, suggesting that the castle was once an important place for military defense. The building of the castle follows the basic principles of ancient astrology and geomantic omen in China. In the ground buildings and tunnels, there are more than 30 landmarks corresponding to 28 stars, such as water wells, stage, Seven-Star Sophora, Eye of the Sky and General Kiln. The custom of "offering sacrifices to stars" on the 28th day of the first month still exists in the castle.
