4. The area where you will work.

Depending on the visa type you choose, you need to be nominated by your Australian employer or the state or regional government to immigrate to Australia.

The nomination of Australian employer-sponsored immigrant visa is a process of judging that the occupation of the approved enterprise needs to recruit skilled workers from outside Australia. There are three kinds of visas for Australian employer-sponsored immigrants. One is a 457 visa, which requires two years' work in Australia to apply for an employer-sponsored permanent residence visa. The other two visas are 186 and 187, which can realize one-step immigration to Australia. Applicants should be nominated by Australian employers.

When applying for an Australian sponsored visa, the applicant needs to submit an EOI on SkillSelect so that the Australian government can nominate the applicant.

190 Australian skilled immigrant applicants must be nominated by state or territory governments; Applicants for 489 visas need to be nominated by Australian state or regional governments or sponsored by qualified relatives.

Applicants for Australian Investment Immigration 188 Business Innovation and Investment (Temporary) Visa must submit EOI through SkillSelect. Before being invited to apply for this visa, they must be nominated by the state or local government or the Australian Trade Commission representing the Australian government.

Except through SkillSelect, each state and territory government in Australia has its own nomination process, and the applicant can contact the state or territory government after submitting the letter of intent.
