Xituo ancient town is located in Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing, formerly known as Jiexituo, and was called "the western boundary of Bazhou" in ancient times. It is named after the backwater located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, facing Shi Baozhai, the pearl of the Yangtze River. Xituo belongs to Shizhu County and has the reputation of "one foot in three counties".

Xituo has a long history and culture as early as the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Here is "land and water trade, fireworks flourish, just like a swamp city". This is an important deep-water harbor in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and has become an important tourist gateway of Huangshui National Forest Park.
