(2) Parents who have settled in Hong Kong and Macao are old and frail and must be taken care of by mainland children;
(3) The helpless elderly and children in the Mainland have to rely on their immediate family members and close relatives in Hong Kong and Macao;
(4) The property of immediate family members who have settled in Hong Kong or Macao has not been inherited, and only mainland children who have settled can inherit it;
(5) There are other special circumstances that must be solved.

1. If one of the husband and wife has settled in Hong Kong and Macao and separated for many years, they can apply to settle in Hong Kong and Macao to reunite the husband and wife.
The specific length of separation varies from place to place. The applicant is a male spouse and is easily approved. The separation period between applying for Hong Kong and going to Macau is also different. According to the separation period announced by Guangxi, those who go to Hong Kong must be separated for more than 4 years, and those who go to Macao must be separated for more than 8 years.
The applicant shall submit the following certification materials to the public security organ that accepts the application, which shall be verified by the accepting organ and keep a copy:
(1) Legal marriage certificate of the applicant and the spouse of Hong Kong and Macao. If Hong Kong and Macao compatriots marry mainland citizens, they shall submit the marriage certificate issued by the marriage registration authority at or above the county level where the mainland citizens are registered. If the marriage is registered in Hong Kong, the marriage certificate issued by the Hong Kong Marriage Registry and the notarial certificate of husband-wife relationship issued by the foreign-related notary office in the Mainland shall be submitted.
(2) proof that the spouse has the qualification of permanent residence in Hong Kong and Macao. If a copy of the holder's Hong Kong permanent identity card and Macao identity card is displayed.
(3) Recent letters from spouses in Hong Kong or Macao.

Generally speaking, parents in Hong Kong and Macau are old when they reach 60 and 55 respectively. Physical illness, poor health, weak body; Families without children from Hong Kong and Macao must be taken care of by mainland children, and only one mainland child can apply to settle in Hong Kong and Macao to take care of his parents.
For children who were originally with their parents in Hong Kong and Macao, they left Hong Kong and Macao for other countries due to immigration or business, resulting in no children around their parents. Mainland children apply to settle in Hong Kong and Macao to take care of their parents. They still can't meet the requirements due to quota restrictions.
The applicant shall submit the following documents to the accepting authority:
(1) Proof of kinship between Hong Kong and Macao. Such as the notarial certificate of kinship issued by the notary office and other relevant certification materials;
(2) Proof that relatives from Hong Kong and Macao have permanent residence qualifications;
(3) Relevant certificates that parents who have settled in Hong Kong and Macao have no children around them;
(4) Proof of parents' health status in Hong Kong and Macao, such as hospital certificate (for five-guarantee households);
(5) Recent letters from relatives in Hong Kong and Macao.
