What information do I need to apply for a British tourist visa?

Provide the following four key documents to support the application, including:

Note: If you want to stay with your friends or relatives in the UK, you need to submit an invitation letter provided by your friends or relatives. At the same time, documents that can prove the immigration status of the friend or relative in the UK should be submitted (if it is a British citizen, a copy of the personal information page of the passport can be submitted, and if it is a short-term resident, a copy of the British visa or biometric card can be provided).

(2) Household registration book and translation. If it is a collective account, provide a copy of the first page and my page of the collective account or the original household registration certificate.

(3) Work certificate (English version required):

A. If you are hired, you need to provide the original certification letter on company stationery issued by the employer, which should include the applicant's position, salary, working hours, company contact information, company registration number, etc.

B. if you are a self-employed, you must submit a copy of the business registration document.

C If you are a student, you need to provide the original certificate letter issued by the school on the school stationery to prove the attendance and leave details.

D. If you have no job, you need to provide a document issued by the travel guarantor or a letter explaining the source of travel funds.

Application process

1. Fill in the application form online.

Before making an appointment, you need to fill out an application form online.

After filling out the form, print it and sign it. If you use the online payment service, you need to print the confirmation letter sent by Worldpay and take it to the visa application center as payment voucher.

Note: All information must be accurate and true. After completing the online application, you will receive an email containing the application number (i.e. "GWF reference number"). Remember this number.

2. Make an appointment online.

After filling out the application form, you will enter the online reservation system. Select the visa center where you want to submit your application, and select the appointment date and visit time.

Note: Summer camp and designated destination tour groups should complete online application, but should not make online reservation. The team leader should contact the local visa application center to make a team appointment.

3. Visit the visa application center.

Bring all materials, including printed application forms, passports and passport photos. Applicants who do not choose to pay online will bring cash for visa fees to the reserved visa application center.

Then collect biological information, that is, take photos and scan digital fingerprints. After paying the visa fee, you will get a tracking ID number, which you can enter to check the progress of your visa application.

When you submit your visa application and biological information to the visa application center, you may need to attend a short interview. The purpose of the interview is to know your real purpose of going to England. This kind of interview is also called honest interview.

Note: Applicants below 16 must be accompanied by an adult when registering biometric information. This does not include the staff of the application center.
