Why doesn't Nanyang speak Henan dialect?

Nanyang is located in the south of Henan province, but its dialect is not exactly the same as Henan dialect. This is because Nanyang dialect belongs to different administrative divisions in history, and has undergone many migrations, as well as the influence of geography, history and culture, which has caused the differences between Nanyang dialect and Henan dialect.

Specifically, some words, pronunciations and grammars in Nanyang dialect are different from those in Henan dialect. For example, in Nanyang dialect, corn is called Yani and peannut is called pea. In addition, Nanyang dialect has some unique language habits and accents, such as "children's voice" and "rolling tongue", as well as some special modal particles and slang.

Therefore, although Nanyang belongs to Henan Province, due to its unique historical, cultural and geographical background, Nanyang dialect is not exactly the same as Henan dialect.
