Does Maldives need a visa?

Maldives needs a visa. It's a visa on arrival, and no visa in advance is required.

Visitors can get a 30-day visa as long as they have legal travel documents, and they have to spend at least some money here every day. Tourists from countries infected with yellow fever need internationally recognized vaccination certificates. When tourists leave, everyone will be charged some service fees, and all guests will get a visa on arrival valid for 30 days for free.

You must have a valid international travel document and a valid return ticket issued by the sovereign government. Its destination should be the place where passengers are allowed to enter the country, and at the same time hold the visa required for the next destination.

Entry precautions

When entering the country, you must fill in the entry registration card, hold a valid passport, return (or extended) air ticket, hotel reservation form (or proof of travel expenses), check it by immigration officials, and issue a visa on arrival before release. Please keep the exit card for inspection when you leave the country. After receiving the checked baggage, you will enter the customs. All luggage will pass the X-ray machine inspection in advance, and customs officials will ask for unpacking inspection if necessary.

Foreigners holding entry permits are not allowed to accept employment, start any enterprises or engage in any professional activities, regardless of whether they are paid or not, unless they are approved according to the relevant laws and regulations of Maldives. However, foreigners or foreign delegations going to Maldives to sign business agreements, contracts or negotiate business transactions do not need a work permit, as long as they do not exceed the approved stay period upon arrival.
