Zhang Penghie was born in Suining, Sichuan, and his ancestral home is Xiaogan Township, Macheng, Hubei. According to historical records such as "Manuscripts of Qing History", "Suining County Chronicles" in the Republic of China, "Genealogy of the Zhang Family in Suining" in the Republic of China, Hu Chuanhuai's "Research on Zhang Penghei" and "Zhang Penghei's Simplified Genealogy", in the second year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1369), the Zhang family entered Sichuan. Under the leadership of the ancestor Zhang Wan, he moved to Heibagou, Suining County, Sichuan Province (now Heibagou Village, Renlong Town, Pengxi County, Sichuan Province), and it has been passed down to the ninth generation by Zhang Pengye. Zhang Penghie once served as Shangshu of the Ministry of Justice and Governor of Liangjiang, etc., and has a reputation for integrity. Shizong ascended the throne and added the crown prince and tutor. In the first year of Yongzheng's reign (1723), he became prime minister and was appointed bachelor of Wenhua Palace. When the Yellow River bursts, it needs to be managed again. In the third year of Yongzheng's reign (1725), he died of illness in Xiangshang. He was given the posthumous title Wenduan and was buried in his hometown. Emperor Yongzheng personally wrote an inscription for him. His main works include 10 volumes of "River Management", 12 volumes of "Memorial", "Envoy to Russia", "Ruyitang Poems", "The Complete Works of Zhang Wenduan", etc. In 2013, Sichuan Economic Television filmed and broadcast the story "Zhang Penghui, an upright official" about the city of Shushui in Bashan, and made a comprehensive evaluation of Zhang Penghei. On November 2, 2015, the Zhang Penghhe Cultural Research Association was established in Pengxi County, Sichuan Province to conduct a comprehensive study on Zhang Penghhe and his family.
