Vanuatu Honorary Citizen Passport Project

20 15 March, Vanuatu was hit by a severe hurricane. In order to rebuild our homeland, Vanuatu launched the Honorary Citizen Project. Foreigners who donated 13 dollars to help rebuild after the disaster were awarded honorary citizenship and Vanuatu passports. Their spouses, principal applicants and their parents over the age of 50,/kloc-children under the age of 0/8 and/kloc-children aged 0/8 to 25 can all obtain Vanuatu passports at the same time.

Article 20 of the Vanuatu Nationality Law [Chapter 1 12] stipulates that if overseas people in Vanuatu can promote and improve Vanuatu's economic development and make contributions to the country and people, the Prime Minister of Vanuatu may recommend this person to become an honorary citizen of Vanuatu in accordance with this Ordinance, and after the approval of the President of Vanuatu, he will be officially awarded the title of honorary citizen. According to Vanuatu Nationality Law, honorary citizens can enjoy the rights of Vanuatu citizens. According to article 20 of chapter 1 12 of Vanuatu Nationality Law, article 20 of amendment No.39 of Vanuatu Nationality Law, Decree No.34 of 20 15, Decree No.37 of 20 15 and 2066.
