As early as the Neolithic Age, human activities have begun and settlement has formed. In the second year of Yuanshou in the Western Han Dynasty (121 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty opened up Hexi. From then on, Qinchuan returned to the territory of the Western Han Dynasty along with Yongdeng County. , under the jurisdiction of Jincheng area, and during the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Yongdeng Eighth District. In September 1949, Yongdeng County was liberated and returned to the ancient mountainous area. In January 1950, Yongdeng adjusted the division and established Wudaoxian Township as the headquarters of the fifth district. In 1958, it was placed under Gaolan County. In the same year, Qinchuan People's Commune was established. In 1959, Yongdeng District of Lanzhou City was established, and Qinchuan Commune was placed under the jurisdiction of Yongdeng District. In 1983, the entire county was transformed into a township and Qinchuan Township was established. In 1999, it was approved as Qinchuan Town by the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, and was listed by the Provincial Restructuring Committee in the same year. It is a pilot town for comprehensive reform of small towns. In July 2000, the township was withdrawn and transformed into a town. Wudaoxian Village, where the town government is based, is the "Tea Horse Market" where merchants gathered in history. It has always been the gathering place for business and popularity in the "Qinwangchuan" area. It is also the central planning area for the construction of small towns. Business circulation is an important part of small towns. The leading and foundation of urban development has become the material distribution center that radiates from the eastern part of Yongdeng County to the surrounding three counties and seven towns.
