Do I have to choose a country for my new passport?

You don't have to choose a country to apply for your first passport. Details are as follows:

1. You don't have to decide which country to go to when you apply for a passport. You can just write one, and it doesn't matter. Passport will not reflect which country you are going to. Most importantly, the country you fill in must match the reason for going abroad. After receiving the passport, it is a personal passport, which is suitable for studying abroad, traveling, visiting relatives and working. And it has nothing to do with your application when you go to the country;

Just because you fill in which country you want to go to when you apply for a passport doesn't mean you can only go to that country. What affects travel is endorsement. So you can fill in any country when you apply for a passport. If you need to travel to other countries, you can go to the entry-exit department again to apply for a new endorsement;

3. The country that was endorsed when applying for a passport for the first time is not the only one that can go. Passports are entry and exit documents, but as documents, there are no restrictions on going to a place;

4. The first time you apply for a passport, you choose a country to endorse it (not to say that the passport can only go to one country, but that the country is registered on the passport in the form of endorsement). If the citizen can apply for the endorsement of other countries according to his personal choice after the endorsement is completed, he can go, not that he can only go to a country by filling in a certain country;

Visa processing procedures:

4. Go to the embassy or consulate in China to meet officials. Some countries stipulate that all immigrant applicants must be interviewed before making a decision; Some countries also require interviews to apply for non-immigrant visas.

5. The embassy or consulate shall submit the completed visa application form and necessary supporting materials to the domestic competent authorities for examination and approval. The embassies and consulates of a few countries have the right to issue visas directly, but they still have to report to China for the record.

6. After going to the competent department of the host country for necessary examination and approval, notify the embassy or consulate of the host country of the examination and approval opinions. If you agree, a visa will be issued. If you refuse, you will also inform the applicant. (For visa refusal, the embassy or consulate will not refund the visa fee. )

7. Pay the visa fee. Generally speaking, when submitting a visa application, you must pay the fee first. In some countries, the fee is charged only after the visa application is successful. Generally speaking, immigrant visa fees are slightly higher and non-immigrant visa fees are slightly lower. There are also some countries and regions that are visa-free.

Article 5 of the Passport Law of the People's Republic of China

Citizens who go abroad for non-official reasons, such as settling in a foreign country, visiting relatives, studying, obtaining employment, traveling and engaging in business activities, shall apply for an ordinary passport to the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ of the local people's government at or above the county level where their household registration is located.

Article 6

When applying for an ordinary passport, a citizen shall submit a resident identity card, a residence booklet, recent bareheaded photos and relevant materials of the reasons for the application. State functionaries who leave the country to apply for an ordinary passport for reasons specified in Article 5 of this Law shall also submit relevant supporting documents in accordance with relevant state regulations.

The exit-entry administrative organ of the public security organ shall issue an ordinary passport within fifteen days from the date of receiving the application materials; Do not meet the conditions, it shall explain the reasons in writing, and inform the applicant of the right to apply for administrative reconsideration or bring an administrative lawsuit according to law.

In remote areas or areas with inconvenient transportation or due to special circumstances, passports cannot be issued on schedule, and the issuance time can be extended to 30 days with the approval of the person in charge of the passport issuing organ.

If a citizen requests emergency treatment due to a reasonable emergency, the exit-entry administration organ of the public security organ shall handle it in time.
