What is the source and destination of the Han River?

The Hanjiang River originated in ningqiang county, Shanxi Province at the southern foot of the Qinling Mountains, and joined the Yangtze River at Longwang Temple in Hankou, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Hanjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, occupies a very important position in history, with a total length of 1.577 km, many dangerous beaches and canyons along the way, relatively large net flow, abundant hydraulic resources and good shipping conditions.

The main stream of Hanjiang River flows through Shaanxi and Hubei provinces, and finally joins the Yangtze River at Longwang Temple in Hankou, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, with a total length of 1.577 km. In Shaanxi Province, it basically flows from west to east. After arriving in Hubei Province, the main stream of Danjiangkou turned southeast, passing through Xiangyang, Yicheng, Zhongxiang, Tianmen, Qianjiang, Xiantao, Hanchuan and other counties and cities.

Characteristics of Hanjiang River

The water used in the famous South-to-North Water Transfer Project is from the Han River. The water quality in the middle and upper reaches of Hanjiang River is good and sweet. It passes through Shaanxi, and people along the coast can even quote it directly. Hanjiang River is also an important water source for cities along the route, which mainly flows through provinces and cities with better environmental protection, less development, beautiful scenery and important water sources.

From northwest to southeast, it flows through the mountains and valleys of Qinling South Road and the ups and downs of Nanxiang Basin, which nourishes thousands of fields in Jianghan Plain and breeds splendid Chinese civilization.
