Are Vietnamese and Cantonese the same?

Vietnamese is different from Cantonese.

Vietnamese is the national language of Vietnam. Vietnamese is also spoken by some Jing people in Guangxi, China. Cantonese includes Chinese and 13 other minority languages: Zhuang, Mian, Bunu, Lajia, Miao, Dong, etc. So the two are different.

The Mandarin dialect of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region belongs to the Southwest sub-dialect, which is what people often call Southwest Mandarin. Southwest Mandarin was introduced to Guangxi in the Ming Dynasty and was mainly spoken in the central and northern Guangxi areas centered on Liuzhou and Guilin. Therefore, people in Guangxi also call Southwest Mandarin "Guiliu dialect". There are approximately 18 million speakers of Southwest Mandarin (including a large number of second languages, bi-native speakers and some immigrants, which shows the strength of Southwest Mandarin, allowing people who are not Southwest Mandarin to use Southwest Mandarin in large numbers).
