Relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq

It's always been complicated. Since 1980s, there have been political, economic and religious tensions between the two countries. 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait, which led to the first Gulf War, and Saudi Arabia was a member of the Coalition forces. Under the leadership of the United States, the war ended, but the tension between the two countries still exists. In recent years, relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq have improved, and the two countries have begun to strengthen cooperation in trade and energy.
