Laiyang Agricultural School (1951-1958)

1951June, with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's Government, Laiyang Agricultural School was established, with two majors: crops, fruit trees and vegetables. It is one of the first two secondary agricultural colleges established in Shandong Province after the founding of New China. It is a key middle school of the Ministry of Agriculture and is led by the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture.

Laiyang Agricultural College (1958 ——1963)

1958 On August 25th, with the approval of the State Council, Laiyang Agricultural College was established, with four departments of agronomy, horticulture, animal husbandry and plant protection, and four majors of agronomy, fruit trees, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine and plant protection, with undergraduate and specialist classes, which are subordinate to provincial and local leaders. The school site was moved from the south of Laiyang to the former site of Laiyang District Committee in the east of the city.

Jimo Agricultural School, Jimo Animal Husbandry School, Qingdao Agricultural School, Yantai Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School, Laoshan Suburb Agricultural Technology School and Penglai Agricultural School were merged into Laiyang Agricultural School on 196 1 (Laiyang Agricultural School was merged into the school on 1963).

1962 The Department of Agricultural Mechanization of Laiyang Agricultural College was transferred and merged with the Department of Agricultural Mechanization of Shandong Agricultural College to form Shandong Agricultural Mechanization College (now Shandong University of Technology).

Laiyang Agricultural School (1963 ——1976)

1In September, 963, Shandong Provincial People's Committee carried out the central government's eight-character policy of "adjustment, consolidation, enrichment and improvement" and decided to close Laiyang Agricultural College, merge with Laiyang Agricultural School, and establish Laiyang Agricultural School, with five majors of agronomy, fruit trees, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, accounting statistics and agricultural machinery, which are under the leadership of Yantai Administrative Office. In September, 1968, the second branch of Shandong University of Socialist Labor was merged into the school.

Laiyang Agricultural University (1976 ——1978)

1976 In May, with the approval of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Laiyang Agricultural University was established on the basis of Laiyang Agricultural School, with five departments, including agronomy, horticulture, agricultural machinery, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and water conservancy, with students 1200 and 555 faculty members, including full-time teachers 177. Laiyang Agricultural College (1978—2007)

1978 In April, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Laiyang Agricultural University was transformed into Laiyang Agricultural College.

Qingdao Agricultural University (2007-)

In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Qingdao Agricultural University, and its location was changed from Laiyang City, Shandong Province to Chengyang District, Qingdao City. With this as a symbol, the school has entered a brand-new stage of development. The school put forward the concept of "scientific development, connotation development and harmonious development" and began to move towards a high-level multidisciplinary university.
