Where is Liu Bocheng’s hometown?

Liu Bocheng was born in the Liu Family Courtyard of Zhangjiaba, Zhoudu Village, Zhaojia Town, Kaixian County, Chongqing City.

According to the "Liu Family Tree" on display at the former residence, the ancestral home of the Liu family was originally in Jiangling County, Jingzhou Prefecture, Hubei Province. Later, following the immigration wave of "Huguang filled Sichuan" in the early Qing Dynasty, they moved to Yunyang, Chongqing City. He settled in Guankou Township, County, and has been farming for generations. During the Xianfeng period, Liu Bocheng's grandfather Liu Zhengfu lived on the banks of the Puli River in Kaixian County in 1860 because he could not afford the rent. While cultivating land, he played suona for others and worked as a blacksmith. He gradually accumulated money and grain, purchased fields, and cultivated his own food. Established a home and had six sons.

Liu Bocheng's father, Liu Wenbing, was the sixth in the family. When the family's economy improved, he attended private school for several years and had a high level of cultural accomplishment. He wrote and compiled the "Liu Family Genealogy" and also boasted to others. He is an expert at plowing and farming, and is a well-known local "literary man with clay feet".

Liu Bocheng’s mother, Zhou Yinxiang, was tall and strong, hard-working, frugal, intelligent and kind-hearted. According to the custom in eastern Sichuan, “the male takes the upper hand and the female stands, the male is the door and the female is the one.” She had a pair of untangled hair. Big Foot is very capable in farming, housekeeping, spinning cotton, and needlework. He is also kind-hearted and is highly valued by his parents-in-law and praised by the villagers. She has four boys and three girls. The boys are arranged according to "brother, middle, uncle, Ji", and Liu Bocheng takes the lead.

On December 4, 1892, Liu Bocheng was born in the Liujiayuan of Zhangjiaba, Zhoudu Village, Zhaojia Town, Kaixian County, Chongqing City. When Liu Bocheng was 5 years old, he separated from his father's family and moved to Shenjiawan, a back slope more than 100 meters away from his old house. Liu Bocheng lived here for 14 years until he left home and joined the army in 1911 to join the Revolution of 1911.
