What is the Wandering Earth Project?

The Wandering Earth is adapted from Liu's novel of the same name. The story is set in 2075. It tells the story that the sun is about to be destroyed and is no longer suitable for human survival. In the face of desperation, mankind will launch the "Wandering Earth" plan, trying to escape from the solar system with the earth and find a new home for mankind.

In order to keep more people alive, the coalition government decided to push the whole earth out of the solar system and fly to a new home 4.2 light years away. This grand and long human migration plan was named "Wandering Earth".

The "Wandering Earth Project" is divided into five steps. The first step is called the earth's braking age. In other words, the earth should stop turning. The second step is to start the earth engine, generate enough driving force to push the earth, and use the gravity of the sun and Jupiter to escape from the solar system. Third, the earth will spend 500 years accelerating in outer space. The fourth step, when it is about to reach the goal, the earth will change the direction of the engine and make the earth rotate again. The fifth step is to reach proxima centauri. The earth will revolve around this star just as it revolves around the sun in the solar system.
