Are Thais and Chinese people homologous?

Is it credible that Thai people consider themselves to be indigenous people who have always lived in Thailand? Is it possible that they migrated from other places, such as neighboring China? Where are the Baiyue people who were active in the southwest of China in history? Did any of them actually go to Thailand? Scholars agree that the Dai and Zhuang people living in southwest and southeastern China (i.e., Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangzhou, and Guangdong) today are branches of the ancient Baiyue ethnic group. Through comparative analysis of Dai, Zhuang and Thai, linguists believe that their sounds and types are very similar, and even some pronunciation and grammar have similarities. They also found hundreds of words in Thai that were similar or corresponding to Chinese, proving that the two nations, Thai and Chinese, had had long-term interactions in history. Based on this, they concluded that Thai people and Chinese people have the same origin. Then, they explained the reasons why the Baiyue people migrated to Thailand, but different scholars have not agreed on the migration path.
