Ogo's movie Ogo

Ogo, written by the famous director Zhang Chi, tells a choice made by the "indigenous ethnic group" unique to Macao society on the eve of 1999' s return to the motherland. Some "indigenous people" choose to emigrate, while others are undecided.

On February 4th, 2009, the film Ogo commemorating the 10th anniversary of Macao's return was premiered in the Great Hall of the People. The director led, Gu Tianxiang and attended the conference. The film will be shown in Macau, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou on February 20th, 65438.

The film was shortlisted for the main competition unit of Karovifari International Film Festival, one of the five major film festivals in the world. At the same time, it has been selected into dozens of international film festivals such as Athens International Film Festival, Madrid International Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Festival. Director Zhang Chi also won the Best Screenplay Award at Xining Youth International Film Festival for this film.

Ogo's mother: China, 58, a traditional China woman. I used to be a dancer when I was young. I had a brief relationship with a Portuguese singer who performed in Macau, and I gave birth to Ogo. Obviously, Macao is the most acceptable choice for local students.

In fact, when I sit and chat with the natives face to face, I know that in my heart, I will instinctively not regard these natives with foreign faces as China people. Just as the Portuguese can give them the greatest recognition, they are just "Oriental Portuguese", and the name "Oriental Portuguese" itself has distinguished them from real Portuguese.

The "roots" of indigenous people are indeed a problem. Therefore, when the natives firmly grasp Macao and declare to the world that they are real Macao people and "sons of Macao", we can see some tragic emotions from it. Macao, a tiny place, may be their last refuge and their only paradise.
