The State Administration of Immigration (People's Republic of China (PRC) Exit-Entry Administration) was established on April 2, 2008. It is the national bureau under the management of the Ministry of Public Security. The main responsibilities are: responsible for the national immigration management; Responsible for coordinating the formulation and implementation of exit-entry management policies and plans, and drafting relevant laws and regulations; Responsible for establishing and improving the coordination mechanism of visa management, and organizing the implementation of visas and entry permits for foreigners in China.

Issuance management and visa extension and renewal; Responsible for the management of foreigners studying in China, work-related management, stay and permanent residence management, nationality management and refugee management; Responsible for entry-exit frontier inspection, management of border people's exchanges, and frontier management in border areas; Responsible for the entry and exit management of China citizens for personal reasons.

Examination and approval management of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents returning to the mainland (mainland); Take the lead in coordinating the illegal entry, illegal residence, illegal employment and illegal immigration repatriation of foreigners, and investigate and deal with illegal and criminal acts that hinder the management of the country (border); International cooperation in the field of immigration.

The State Administration of Immigration leads and manages the work of the national entry-exit frontier inspection agencies and border management agencies, and guides and manages the business of the entry-exit management agencies of public security organs in all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.

The National Immigration Bureau consists of eight departments, including comprehensive department, policy and regulation department, foreigner management department, citizen entry and exit management department, frontier inspection management department, information technology department, cadre and personnel department, logistics support department and government party committee. 1 committee.

Entry-exit frontier inspection bureau. Set up entry-exit frontier inspection agencies at ports open to the outside world to inspect and manage entry-exit personnel and vehicles, manage port restricted areas, and prevent and investigate illegal entry-exit activities.

Border management agencies. Establish border management agencies in border areas, implement inspection and management of people and vehicles entering and leaving the border management areas, public security management in the areas under their jurisdiction, and management of border people's exchanges, prevent and investigate illegal entry and exit activities, and investigate and deal with criminal cases that hinder the management of the country (border).

Exit and entry administration of public security organs. Set up exit-entry management agencies in provincial, city and county public security organs, undertake the management of citizens going abroad for personal reasons, accept and issue exit certificates for personal reasons, implement the daily management of foreigners' stay and permanent residence in China, issue port visas and other corresponding documents, and investigate and deal with illegal and criminal activities at the entry and exit.
