How to get to Cuba

Last week, I introduced the human geography of Cuba to you. Today, I will tell you how to go to Cuba and how to apply for visas for friends with China and American passports. Let Xiao Jing analyze it carefully!

Holding a China passport

According to the agreement between China and Cuba, Cuban citizens with diplomatic, official and ordinary official passports can enter Cuba without a visa. China citizens holding ordinary passports for personal reasons can apply for visas at the Cuban Embassy in China and the Consulate General in Shanghai and Guangzhou. The tourist city of Valadero can apply for a visa on arrival. However, if there is no visa from a third country, there is a risk that the border inspection in China will not be allowed.

Handling method: Submit the application in person or by entrusting others to the Consular Section of the Cuban Embassy in China.

Duration of stay: You can stay in Cuba for 30 days with a valid visa. If you need to extend your visa, you must apply to the Immigration Bureau before the visa expires, and you can extend it for up to 30 days.

The process of applying for a visa in China:

1. To apply for a tourist visa to Cuba, you need to prepare the application materials according to the requirements of the consulate. All materials are as follows:

Passport valid for more than 6 months.

Copy of the first page of passport.

Round-trip ticket from China to Cuba.

Hotel orders in Cuba.

For overseas medical insurance with a term of 30 days, only the original policy issued by PICC Life Insurance, Health Insurance or Ping An Property Company is accepted at this stage.

2. Download and fill in the English tourist visa application form. A 3.2-inch passport photo attached to the application form. 4. A residence booklet or temporary residence permit that proves that you live in the application area. 5. Submit the application and pay the fee.

Submit your application to the consulate. It is suggested to contact the consulate in advance to determine the working hours. At the same time of submitting the application, the visa fee is11RMB per person, and the urgent fee is 444 RMB per person. If the agent charges, each person 185 RMB.

6. Wait for the application to be processed

The processing time for Cuban visa applications is generally 2-3 working days.

Obtain a passport

Go to the embassy to get your passport according to the date indicated on the receipt, either in person or by entrusting someone else to get it. If you need someone else to collect it, you need to show the following relevant certificates, including the original visa fee receipt and the Cuban Embassy receipt, the original power of attorney signed by me, a copy of my ID card (front and back) and the client's ID card, etc.

Another way

Entry into Cuba from Mexico: visa-free entry into Mexico does not require a visa, but a Cuban visa card is required for transit in Mexico. The price of the card ranges from $30 to $50 per person, and a return ticket is required. (The picture above shows the Cuban visa card)

Entering Cuba from the United States: First of all, you must have a legal American visa or green card, and you need to apply for a Cuban visa at the American airport. Alaska/JetBlue provides on-site airport purchase service (it needs to be confirmed with the airline twice). Visa prices range from 100 to 130 per person. And you need to provide a return ticket.

Hold an American passport

Direct flights from the United States to Cuba: a Cuban visa is required in advance. Alaska/JetBlue provide on-site airport purchase service (it needs to be confirmed with the airline twice), and the visa fee ranges from 100 to 130 per person.

Transfer from a third country to Cuba: you need to apply for a Cuban visa card to transfer to a third country, and the price ranges from $30 to $50 per person.

Precautions for direct flights from the United States to Cuba

A) You need to fill in the airline affidavit form (please ask the airline directly). When you buy a ticket, the airline will send you an oath form, please fill it out truthfully and take it with you when you travel in Cuba. Please note that when flying from the United States to Cuba and from Cuba to the United States, you need to fill out the affidavit form. Please note that you should take these two forms with you. Cuban visa card (this visa card is different from the entry card filled in on the Cuban plane, and both materials are required). American Airlines will not sell Cuban visa cards for the time being. Attention, passengers transferring from China to Cuba:

A) If you are transiting through Europe or the United States and then going to Cuba, you'd better apply for a Cuban tourist visa in China in advance, otherwise China Customs will not be able to give you clearance. Passengers with Fujian nationality or passports issued by Fujian must apply for tourist visas at the Cuban Embassy in Beijing.

B) If you are in transit in Mexico and have a US visa, please purchase and apply for a Cuban entry card at the transit counter of the Mexican airport and take it with you.
