Northeast China, also known as Kanto, refers to the east of Shanhaiguan.

Northeast China had an official name in the Warring States Period, and the name Kanto was used in the Ming Dynasty, while "going to the Kanto" refers to many large-scale immigrants to the Northeast organized in the Qing Dynasty.
