Why are there fewer and fewer people in Dongguan?

1. Many factories moved out or closed down, which directly led to the loss of immigrants. Especially in recent years, two or three large enterprises have closed down one after another, and the labor cost is rising day by day. Enterprises move to the mainland or Southeast Asian countries, hoping to save money. There are few factories and few natural personnel. Coupled with the economic development in the mainland, Dongguan's wages are not competitive, so it is better to go back to work, and fewer people will not come out to work.

The entertainment industry has decreased. With the strict management of the hotel industry in Dongguan in the past few years, relatively few people come to Dongguan for entertainment, which is also a reason.

3. The demographic dividend is slowly decreasing. In the late 1980s and 1990s, family planning was controlled by the state, and the birth rate was very low. There are many only children, and a family can have at most two children. If the family conditions are good, they will naturally not come out to work.

What's more, Dongguan is not tolerant of migrant workers and the environment is not so good. In particular, domestic garbage is everywhere in industrial areas, and cities lack mainstream culture and cohesion, which is one of the reasons why it is difficult to attract young people to stay.
