10-year-old children can change their names after immigrating to Canada.
1. The name can only be changed if the following conditions are met: the applicant must have lived in Ontario for at least 12 months.
2. The applicant must be 16 years old or above. If the applicant is between 16 and 18, the applicant must obtain the written consent of his parents or guardians before changing his name, unless the applicant is married.
3. If a child under the age of 16 applies to change his name, one of his parents or guardians must be the applicant of the child and obtain the written consent of any other person who has custody of the child.
