West side story's plot

The whole work takes the love spark sparked by the accidental meeting between Maria and Tony as the main line, and describes the feud between two gangs with different backgrounds. Because these Hispanic immigrants are discriminated against by local Americans, they feel exclusive to Americans, and the friction of competing for territory has long been incompatible with the local gangster jet gang in this community. In this case, the brother who regarded his sister as the apple of his eye chose Chino, a young man in the same group, as his fiance. But helpless and naive Maria accepted this fatalistic feeling on the surface, but in her heart she expected the unpredictable true love to come at an early date.

Finally, at the first dance in her life, she happened to meet the handsome young man Tony. As telepathy, they fell in love with each other at the same time. So, the two presented the first dance and a deep kiss together. Tony, as the protagonist of the whole play, was once an important member of the Jeter gang and a good friend of the leader Rafe.
