Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (hereinafter referred to as "Inner Mongolia") is the provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC). Its grassland, forest and per capita arable land all rank first in China, and its rare earth metal reserves rank first in the world. It is the largest grassland pastoral area in China.

Inner Mongolia is located in Eurasia, with a temperate continental climate, spanning the northeast, north and northwest of China and bordering eight provinces and regions. The terrain extends obliquely from northeast to southwest, and the whole area basically belongs to plateau landform area.
