Troupe Experience of Chongqing Repertory Theatre

In the early days of Chongqing Repertory Theatre, there were a number of well-known and accomplished directors, performing artists, playwrights and stage artists, such as famous directors, famous actors, drama critics, stage artists Wan Sheng and Cao. Later, industry leaders appeared, such as young and middle-aged actors Hao Pengshou, Zhang Xin, Cao Hu, Deyuan Luo and Wang Haiyan. In recent years, graduates from the Central Academy of Drama and Shanghai Theatre Academy have joined the troupe and become a new force with great potential, such as Liang Donghua and Cao Shanshan. The troupe has participated in many national and regional performances, drama festivals, invitational competitions and other large-scale performances, and won many major awards.

Over the past 60 years, the construction of troupe has always paid attention to the spirit of the times and reflected the historical situation and real life in a timely manner. The troupe takes it as its mission to publicize the Party's line, principles and policies, and its plays are close to reality, life and the masses, and strives to build a socialist core value system, such as Shazhouping with the theme of Three Gorges immigrants (won the national "Five One Project" award), Lu Zhenlong with the theme of public security heroes, and Zheng Peimin, which eulogizes the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. In 2007, The Story of Peach Blossom Garden won the second prize of the Ministry of Culture to commemorate the100th anniversary of the birth of China's drama and the 5th National Excellent Drama Exhibition, and was awarded the second prize by the municipal government.

In 2005, Chongqing Repertory Theatre added the brand of "Chongqing Children's Art Troupe" and became the first provincial children's art troupe in western China. There are 8 million children in Chongqing who have their own professional art troupe. Chongqing Children's Art Troupe rehearsed children's dramas such as Rabbit and Gun, Snow White, Three Little Pigs and Radish Head, which were warmly welcomed by small audiences.
