A week ago, I planned to share this exciting news with you on March 2 1 2020, but the emergency response to coronavirus pneumonia-19 (COVID-19) changed the plan. As the chairman of the board, I am proud of the rapid response of the school and thank you for your unremitting efforts. Just as teaching, study and work have all moved to remote places, this important statement has also moved to the Internet. Now I am very happy to introduce our next headmaster to you.

Bill Flanagan was born and raised in Alberta, joined university of alberta from Queen's University, and served as Dean of Law School from 2005 to 20 19. He holds a bachelor's degree in literature (English and philosophy) and a doctorate in law from Carlton University. He received a bachelor's degree in international economic law from the University of Toronto and Sorbonne University in Paris, and a master's degree in law from Columbia University. His academic works cover property law, company law and international trade law. ?

President-elect Flanagan is strategic and entrepreneurial, and has proved his ability to find growth opportunities for the research and teaching tasks of the whole university. Under his leadership, the number of teaching staff and curriculum development has been expanding, and the success rate of fund-raising has increased five times during the period of tight public funds. With the increase of resources, the reputation of the school in scientific research and teaching has been deepened, and more learning opportunities and comprehensive transformation of the learning environment have enriched students' learning experience. ?

President-elect Flanagan is a leader who can make change creative and inspiring. He re-imagined the legal education plan that can be carried out in the connecting link between the law school and the law school. Under his leadership, the Law School established a doctoral program and a center for contemporary workplace law. He is currently the chairman of the national working group of the Canadian AIDS Research Foundation, the chairman of the board of directors of the Toronto AIDS Committee, the largest community AIDS service organization in Canada, and the chairman of the Ontario AIDS Treatment Network and the Canadian AIDS Russia. Biography of Bill Flanagan

President-elect William (Bill) Flanagan will be the 14 President and Vice President of the University of Alberta. ?

Bill Flanagan was born and raised in Alberta. He oversaw the establishment of the department's doctoral program, the establishment of the Contemporary Workplace Law Center, the major expansion of the commercial law course, the online undergraduate certificate course in law, the online postgraduate diploma in legal service management, and the upcoming new online postgraduate diploma in immigration and citizenship law. During his tenure as dean, he increased the number of teaching staff by 25%, diversified the composition of students and increased the annual donation support by more than five times.
