Whether in the Tang Dynasty or the Yuan Dynasty, craftsmen or soldiers who came to the Central Plains were generally sent out. They have a low status in the place where they used to live. Only by hard work and continuous military achievements can they keep themselves and gain importance, and eventually become soldiers who rule other regions in Mongolia. On the other hand, in the Southern Song Dynasty, due to the natural protection of the Yangtze River, the Jiangnan area was not affected by the war.

It is precisely because there is no war in the south of the Yangtze River that it naturally becomes the first center in the Central Plains to develop culture and economy. During the Yuan Dynasty, the strategic position of Jiangnan reached its peak, so a large number of Israeli troops and officials were sent here. Because there are not a few Semu businessmen in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and the rulers guide them, a large number of Semu people gathered in the south of the Yangtze River in an instant, among which Hangzhou and Nanjing have the most Semu people.

Semu people came to live in Jiangnan for a period of time and naturally fell in love with the unique living environment in Jiangnan. Because the material life in the south of the Yangtze River is richer and more diverse, these semu people who came to the Central Plains also began to receive the baptism of Chinese civilization imperceptibly. In the later period, officials of Semu people began to learn Confucian culture and began to preach and advocate loyalty, filial piety and benevolence among Semu people.

Later, many semu people also took the imperial examinations and became the main promoters of literature and Confucianism. I think the reason why they linger in the Central Plains is that they have found the lifestyle they want here.
