Where did ancient Chaoshan people come from today?

Most of chaozhou people's ancestors fled from the ancient Central Plains (namely, Henan, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Shandong and other places) to Putian (now Putian City) in Fujian, and then moved to Chaoshan area.

Before the Eastern Jin Dynasty (Yongjia Du Nan), most of them were from Henan, and from the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty, most of them were from Fujian. After the Southern Song Dynasty (Du Nan), there are Chaoshan people now.

Chaoshan people (English: Teochew people), that is, chaozhou people in the past, that is, chaozhou people, Chaoshan people, and now chaozhou people also refers to Chaozhou citizens, referring to the descendants of early Han people who moved from the Central Plains to Fujian and then to eastern Guangdong. They originated in the Central Plains, multiplied in Chaoshan and became famous overseas. They were once known as "where there is tide, there are hipsters, and where there are hipsters, there are hipsters." Most contemporary Chaoshan people use Chaozhou dialect (also referred to as "Chaoshan dialect", which is similar to ancient Chinese in Qin, Han, Wei and Jin Dynasties) as their mother tongue, and now it has gathered in nearly 100 countries and regions at home and abroad. The native population living in Chaoshan is about10 million, the population living in other parts of China is more than10 million, and the population living abroad is more than10 million. There is a saying that "Chaoshan is at home and Chaoshan is overseas", and it is one of the most accomplished and influential Han people in the world.
