Lixin Qi: Can ACCA become a skilled immigrant?

It's time for a new batch of China students to study abroad. At this time, students need to do some preparatory work before going abroad. Speaking of preparation before departure, it may be summed up in several words: "clothing", "food", "shelter" and "travel"

In fact, "everything" is more appropriate. It takes a lot of effort to change money, luggage and various items.

Among the luggage originally prepared for studying abroad, it is already "the sparrow is small and complete." Some students go abroad and bring a lot of daily necessities, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, washing powder, soap and so on. Sometimes, the price of ordinary things in China is surprisingly high abroad, which is several times higher than that in China. Therefore, according to the common sense of consumption in destination countries, many students are used to bringing bath flowers and rice cookers.

Here, I want to say that if you want to study in Britain, it's good to bring some domestic washing powder and soap. I remember traveling to England a few years ago, and what impressed me the most was the washing powder I bought in England. There is not much foam when washing clothes, and it feels a little salty. So I think domestic daily necessities are more effective and cost-effective.

What is necessary in luggage, but what is necessary is a science. Take cosmetics as an example, domestic students and parents have a little misunderstanding. I think, unless you have a fixed brand, or you are afraid that there is none abroad, generally speaking, foreign cosmetics (including some brands) are much cheaper than domestic ones. In other words, good quality and low price, just bring some spare ones. I think I can buy the rest slowly in my life abroad.

A few days ago, when I visited an American university, I met one of our female students in China. We spoke freely, and naturally, we talked about overseas cosmetics. This may be a woman's nature. She told me that she seldom used some expensive international brand skin care products in China, but after coming to the United States, she gradually became familiar with the surrounding living and shopping environment, and she and her classmates often bought some domestic brand cosmetics that made her "flinch". According to her introduction, these international brands of cosmetics are equivalent to the price she usually buys domestic ordinary cosmetics. In her view, this is a very pleasant thing.

Actually, I feel the same way with her. Overseas, I think some cosmetics are really good and cheap. However, this is not absolute. It can only be compared with overseas brands commonly used in China, and it is not excluded that the prices of some international first-line high-end brands are almost the same at home and abroad. As for the latter, as a student, including myself, I naturally have a clear idea after the comparison, and feel that it is unnecessary to spend time, which is naturally beyond the scope of discussion. I don't need to describe it here.

Talk about some feelings of my frequent visits to European and American countries. In Europe and America, for the simplest example, I like to buy perfume. I can buy quite cheap perfume in American duty-free shops, even in big shopping malls. Moreover, major brands of cosmetics compete with each other. In the special promotions in Christmas and June, many price advantages are even higher than those in Malaysia and China.

For example, I went to Hong Kong during the Spring Festival last year. Although Hong Kong is our special administrative region, the low tariff makes the international brand cosmetics entering Hong Kong have more price advantages than the mainland, and some products are even cheaper than the origin. For example, Lancome, because the price of Lancome is only half that of the mainland, the prices of brands such as Clinique and Clarins are about 6-7 times lower than those of mainland counters, and the prices of brands such as CD and Chanel are also much lower than those of the mainland.

I hope the answer is helpful to you and I hope it will be adopted.
