Brief introduction of Fuqing people
Fuqing people are a Min dialect used in the eastern coast of Fujian Province, which spread overseas with immigrants. Fuqing dialect retains many pronunciations and vocabularies of Chinese characters in the Middle Ages and even the ancient times, and its phonological system has rich and varied changes. There are some differences in Fuqing dialect, but Rongcheng dialect in Fuqing city is regarded as the representative of Fuqing dialect in academic circles. Fuqing dialect is obviously different from Fuzhou dialect in Fuzhou, but they are similar in phonology, vocabulary and grammar, and both belong to Fuzhou dialect.
