New Town Construction in Dong and Miao Villages of Mo Bin

With the construction of Tuokou Hydropower Station, it is urgent to relocate the flooded Dong and Miao townships in Mo Bin, Huitong County. At present, the relocation planning of the new market town is under intense pressure. Recently, Mobin Township publicized the preliminary results of Mobin's new town planning provided by Central South Design Institute in the town, and Mo Bin Township People's Congress organized some county and township people's congresses to inspect the draft plan and topography of the new town on the spot, giving full play to the right to know, participate and supervise, and fully listening to and collecting the opinions and suggestions of the delegates. Through the on-the-spot investigation and "pulse-taking" of the representatives of county and township people's congresses on the planning of new towns, five suggestions and opinions are put forward. First, the scale of newly-built market towns is too small, which requires expanding the planning scale to adapt to the expansion of market towns in the future; Second, limited by the terrain, the width of the market town in the planning map is not enough, and the overall layout is unreasonable, requiring an increase in width; The third is to incorporate the overall relocation of the central primary school into the plan; Fourth, the planning should consider the living habits of ethnic minorities in Mo Bin to build wooden houses, and rationally arrange the construction land in the planning layout, combining the current situation and the actual demolition; Fifth, the planning of new market towns should be strictly operated according to procedures, and the opinions of the masses should be widely solicited to make the planning of market towns more scientific and practical.

With the relocation of Mobin Town, Mo Bin Town People's Congress representatives said that they would continue to plan and build new market towns.
