Is the Suizhou dialect in Dawu Guangshui an ancient Suiguo dialect?

Dawu Guangshui belongs to Huang Xiao in Jianghuai Mandarin, and Suizhou dialect belongs to Xiangyang in Southwest Mandarin.

It has been more than two thousand years since ancient times, and the changes of the Millennium have long been beyond recognition. Suizhou now, and Dawu Guangshui dialect nearby, are definitely not the ancient Suiguo dialect.

Under what circumstances can dialects be well preserved? Dialects are well preserved in closed mountainous areas, remote areas, areas lacking communication with the outside world, areas with stable life and less war. Because there is little language communication between those places and the outside world, few immigrants enter and are not greatly influenced by the outside language.

For example, in ancient Chinese, there were four tones of flat tone, rising tone, falling tone and entering tone, while in modern Chinese (Putonghua), these four tones are flat tone, rising tone, falling tone, and entering tone disappears, while flat tone is divided into flat tone and rising tone. In Shanxi, which also belongs to the north, there are five tones in many places, either yin and yang or yin and yang. Why can Shanxi dialect keep entering the sound? Because Luliang Mountain in Taihang Mountain was relatively closed in ancient times. Wu dialect, Xiang dialect and Gan dialect, because of the barrier of the Yangtze River, had relatively little communication with the north in ancient times, and even immigrants did not migrate on a large scale at one time. The southeast coast is less influenced by the northern dialect, and the entering tone is not only preserved, but also divided into four tones in some places: upper yin entering, lower yin entering, upper yang entering and lower yang entering.

There are Rusheng in the ancient dialect and Suizhou dialect. Suizhou has neither mountains nor rivers, so it is not a remote area. And Suizhou is located in the north-south transportation hub. In such a place, it is difficult for dialects to develop independently, and it is impossible to preserve ancient dialects. Moreover, the Zhou dynasty has been following the country for more than two thousand years, and it is completely different from the surrounding influence.
