Why did the population migrate?

In the process of population migration, there are mainly the following situations: (1) population migration resettles unemployed and idle labor; (2) Supporting population migration in the construction of new industrial bases; (3) Immigrants reclaim land to support the frontier construction and population migration of the new base of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry; (4) Enrollment and distribution of the relocation of institutions of higher learning and population migration; (5) Population migration caused by new water conservancy and reservoir resettlement; (6) Population migration caused by shrinking urban population; (7) A small amount of spontaneous migration. Generally speaking, population migration in this period was more controlled by national policies and household registration management system, and spontaneous population migration and mobility were relatively few.

After liberation, in order to better build our motherland, the National Government organized and planned a series of population migration, the main types are as follows:

(1) After the liberation of immigrants to the mainland, in order to make the distribution of productive forces develop in a reasonable direction, a large number of industrial and mining bases and agricultural bases were built in the mainland, and large-scale transportation construction was carried out. In order to adapt to the development of this situation, a large number of workers, cadres, scientific and technological personnel and their families have moved from densely populated areas in the eastern coastal areas to key development areas and key construction areas for support, with millions of people. The immigrant areas are mainly northeast, northwest and southwest.

(2) Migration to the newly-built agricultural and forestry base In order to build the agricultural and forestry base, a large number of urban youth, demobilized soldiers and urban idlers have migrated from the eastern coastal areas to the sparsely populated border areas. In the early days of liberation, a large-scale field army corps was transformed into a construction corps. During the Cultural Revolution, a large number of urban youths went to the countryside to belong to this type of immigrants.

(3) After the distribution of graduates was liberated, hundreds of thousands of college graduates took up jobs every year. Among the graduates, except for some who went back to their respective provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions to arrange jobs, some responded to the call of the state and were assigned to work in key construction areas, remote mountainous areas and culturally backward areas.

(4) The number of immigrants in disaster areas is decreasing. However, in the case of harsh production conditions and insurmountable natural disasters, a considerable number of residents still leave their hometowns and move to areas with better production conditions and sparse population.

(5) After the liberation of reservoir immigrants, China's water conservancy construction has made brilliant achievements, and thousands of large and medium-sized reservoirs have been built. Residents in the flooded area of the reservoir have to move, some are arranged nearby, and some need to move to other provinces and regions. At present, immigrants from the Three Gorges reservoir area in China are almost all over China.

(6) immigrants of a special nature. Such immigrants are different in different countries and regions. In our country, due to the needs of economic construction or military affairs, some residents have been moved out of densely populated areas to islands, frontiers and other places in an organized way. Sometimes when the sex ratio is unbalanced in some areas, some heterosexual youths will be organized to adjust the gender combination in this area.
