How to get a new passport when it expires?
1. When applying for replacement, you should bring the original and photocopy of your old passport, ID card and household registration book to the exit-entry administration office (bureau) where your household registration is located.
2. Process: take the number-take photos-fill in the form-call the number-window acceptance.
Remember to write the ID number of your old passport when filling out the form.
4. After acceptance, a corner of the old passport will be cut off and returned for visa reference.
Generally, the validity of visas and passports for going abroad should be more than 6 months, otherwise the embassy will not accept them.

If the applicant wants to keep the visa on the original passport, he can merge the new passport with the cancelled original passport.

Article 11 of the Passport Law of the People's Republic of China is under any of the following circumstances, the passport holder may apply for a new or reissued passport in accordance with the provisions:
(1) The passport is about to expire;
(2) The passport visa page is about to run out;
(3) The passport is damaged and cannot be used;
(4) The passport is lost or stolen;
(5) Other circumstances in which a passport needs to be renewed.
