1. The certification materials submitted by student visa applicants to the Immigration Department must meet the requirements of all the courses they have attended, which are judged as the highest risk level by Annex 5A of the main regulations;

2. The applicant must convince the Immigration Department that the applicant applies for a visa solely for studying in Australia and is willing to abide by any visa regulations and fulfill any related obligations;

3. The applicant must convince the Immigration Bureau that the applicant has the financial resources specified in Schedule 5A, and the applicant must prove or show that the financial resources can be obtained before the visa application is approved.

Study abroad experts say that tightening student visas is the most unfavorable for students who want to study in TAFE. The first new regulation has little to do with China students, but is aimed at students from other countries. It mainly refers to those students who take the whole course (package). In the past, the risk level was assessed according to the main course and the nationality of the students. Now it is calculated according to the courses with the highest risk level except language.

The second regulation is mainly aimed at three types of students: students studying TAFE immigration; Students with insufficient financial ability who want to pay tuition and living expenses by working in Australia; Students who are engaged in other affairs in Australia in the name of studying abroad, or students whose visas are overdue. Immigration officials are increasingly strict in examining the real purpose of student visa applicants coming to Australia, not only in economic aspects, but also in past academic background, work background and the relationship between the applicant's courses and background.
