Lian (1085~ 1 143), a native of Yingshan (Guangshui, Hubei), was a scholar in Song Zhenghe in the second year (112), and successively went to Ren Zhongshu, Scheeren and Yi Hui. He entered Baowenge as a bachelor, learned about Guangzhou, and moved to Guangdong as an envoy. Shaoxing was demoted to Quanzhou in the ninth year (1 139) for offending Qin Gui, and then lived in seclusion at the foot of Xiushan, the 11th capital of Longxi County (now west of Cui Lin Village, Bangshan Town, Longhai City), and Shaoxing in the thirteenth year (165438).

His descendants are scattered in Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Taiwan Province and Southeast Asia. Lien Chan, the former "Vice President" and "Executive Dean" of Taiwan Province Province, is his 26th grandson and 30th grandson.
