General situation of Lianjiang reservoir
Lianjiang Reservoir, also known as Lianjiang Dam and Jiangxiang Reservoir (because the three rivers in the reservoir area meet in Dougang Natural Village and Xiaosuji Natural Village and finally flow into the Yangtze River). The dam site is located in Lianjiang Town, southwest of Dingyuan County, Anhui Province. Near the junction of Jichen River, Chucheng River and qinglong river in the upper reaches of Chihe River. The waters involve Lianjiang Town, Zhang Qiao Town, Jiang Ji (formerly Jiang Ji Township), Ji Guo Township (now merged into Lianjiang Town), Wuwei Town, Zhang Zhan Township (now merged into Wuwei Town) and other towns, mostly or partially.
The reservoir controls a watershed area of about 735 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of about 200-300 million cubic meters. It undertakes the important tasks of flood control and water supply, especially when combined with the water diversion project of the fourth stage station of Sima Mountain, which can provide important water sources for agricultural irrigation, urban water supply and industrial water supply. It is a large-scale water conservancy comprehensive utilization project and a major regional water resources allocation project.
