Why do most British immigrants come from Pakistan and India?

Most immigrants from European countries come from their former colonies. India and Pakistan are Britain's most important colonies and big exporters, so there are many immigrants from India and Pakistan in Britain.

But then again, India, as the most important labor exporter in the world, has a large number of immigrants in many countries in the world, not just Britain.
