Can I apply for a passport in a different place?

Yes, 43 cities in China can apply for foreign passports. The Ministry of Public Security has decided to set up Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Shenyang, Dalian, Changchun, Harbin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Hefei from July 13. Fuzhou, Xiamen, Nanchang, Jinan, Qingdao, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Haikou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guiyang and Kunming.

And foreign spouses and/kloc-children under the age of 6 of registered residents in 43 cities including Xi, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Wenzhou, Jiaxing, Zhoushan, Quanzhou, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Zhuhai, Dongguan and Foshan. As well as temporary employment (residence) in this city, students and their spouses at school, and children under the age of 16, they can submit ordinary passport applications nearby. But this time it does not include the Hong Kong and Macao Pass.

Ordinary passport holders with extended information should have Chinese mainland household registration or People's Republic of China (PRC) citizens living abroad. People's Republic of China (PRC) citizens who are permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao shall not apply for passports of the People's Republic of China, but shall apply for passports of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or Macao Special Administrative Region.

Residents of Taiwan Province Province who meet certain conditions may apply for passports of the People's Republic of China to relevant institutions in People's Republic of China (PRC) and embassies and consulates abroad. The validity period of diplomatic passports and official passports shall not exceed 5 years, and the validity period of ordinary passports shall not exceed 10 years. New photos will be sent after the expiration. The validity period of the HKSAR passport is generally 10 years.
