Liu Yuan, a Beijinger, immigrated to Los Angeles for many years. He has never had a regular job and has a very complicated job to earn money. On one occasion, he received a film crew in China and met Li Qing, a Beijing girl who had just arrived in the United States to temporarily look at the house.
